Culturally Responsive Teaching: connecting education to communities of color begins with Truth they are ongoing targets of illegal US .01% rogue state empire

“One of the sayings in our country is Ubuntu – the essence of being human. Ubuntu speaks particularly about the fact that you can’t exist as a human being in isolation. It speaks about our interconnectedness. You can’t be human all by yourself, and when you have this quality – Ubuntu – you are known for your generosity. We think of ourselves far too frequently as just individuals, separated from one another, whereas you are connected and what you do affects the whole World. When you do well, it spreads out; it is for the whole of humanity.”  ~ Desmond Tutu, 2008

Culturally Responsive Teaching by Zaretta Hammond addresses how US public education can best connect with communities of color. Hammond documents strategies for educators to appreciate a single cultural paradigm, communalism, that all social interactions begin with fundamental embrace of human/Life interconnection and can never be successful without this context. In contrast, public education today resonates with the dominant US political and financial culture of individualism, the de facto  practice of education for individual success disconnected from community that is obvious when pointed to, which this analysis documents.

Public education for mere individual success will be met with resistance and lower achievement by human beings appropriately responding to a condition calling for their separation from community. This condition can be transformed for students to become “rebels in the right way” by recognizing the extent and costs of individualism, and realigning our thoughts, words, and actions for what we most want: education for a world that works for everyone with no-one left out.

The impossible task: authentically teaching connectedness within ongoing US .01% illegal rogue state empire

The most important place to begin looking is at the facts affecting the most numbers of people and the highest costs in money. The fact that the US is an ongoing illegal .01% rogue state empire is Emperor’s New Clothes obvious for anyone looking at the facts, irrefutable in debate (except we can’t get anyone from the .01% to debate us), and yet unrecognized by most Americans because they’re responding to “official” propaganda rather than engaging in reality.

The allegory of the Emperor’s New Clothes matches the US condition:

Naked empire in the open for all to see, yet most adults still unresponsive to the calls of the few pointing and speaking clearly to objective and independently-verifiable facts “covered” by tragic-comic Orwellian propaganda.

The facts are damning, stark, and clearly visible to anyone caring to look.

That said, cognitive dissonance will cause many of relative privilege to look away.

We’ll consider the central aspects of US rogue state empire that is taught in any comprehensive college academic course (although almost never in public high school texts):

  • Lie-started and Orwellian-illegal Wars of Aggression
  • Creating what is used for money as debt owed to private banks
  • Continuous lies of omission and commission through “officials,” corporate media, and public education texts

But to connect communities of color to embrace public education demands we start with a truth of our best spokesperson for social justice to connect all humanity on Earth: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated by the .01% US rogue state empire. This is the lawful verdict of the King Family civil trial with overwhelming evidence, and for which Coretta fought more than twice the number of years she was married to Martin to bring to the public.

Dr. Martin Luther King’s family and personal friend/attorney, William F. Pepper, won a civil trial that found US government agencies guilty of Martin’s assassination/wrongful death. The 1999 trial, King Family versus Jowers and Other Unknown Co-Conspirators, is the only trial ever conducted on the assassination of Dr. King. The King Center fully documents the case, with full trial transcript (to more fully explain the following summary of trial evidence, here is the best article I’ve found).

Obviously, the following evidence demands arrests in our world of the present of those .01% liars in government and corporate media who act as ongoing criminal accomplices after the fact to protect those who assassinated Martin. Corporate media and US “leaders” ongoingly “fake news” the US public with absolutely refuted claims in this and literally ~100 other central and game-changing facts of history.

The overwhelming evidence of US government complicity found valid by the jury includes:

  • US 111th Military Intelligence Group were at Dr. King’s location during the assassination.
  • 20th Special Forces Group had an 8-man sniper team at the assassination location on that day.
  • Usual Memphis Police special body guards were advised they “weren’t needed” on the day of the assassination.
  • Regular and constant police protection for Dr. King was removed from protecting Dr. King an hour before the assassination.
  • Military Intelligence set-up photographers on the roof of a fire station with clear view to Dr. King’s balcony.
  • Dr. King’s room was changed from a secure 1st-floor room to an exposed balcony room.
  • Memphis police ordered the scene where multiple witnesses reported as the source of shooting cut down of their bushes that would have hid a sniper.
  • Along with sanitizing a crime scene, police abandoned investigative procedure to interview witnesses who lived by the scene of the shooting.
  • The rifle Mr. Ray delivered was not matched to the bullet that killed Dr. King, and was not sighted to accurately shoot.

Also, the FBI acted to cause Dr. King’s death by suicide. The FBI illegally spied on Dr. King, used data in attempt to split leadership, and sent Dr. King a letter promising to expose alleged sexual misconduct. This was part of the FBI’s illegal COINTELPRO program.

Please read the above evidence twice to be clear on its overwhelming power.

The King family’s attempts for a criminal trial were always denied by state and federal government. Claimed suspect, James Ray, said that his government-appointed attorney told him to sign a guilty plea to prevent the death penalty and threatened arrests of his father and brother as co-conspirators for his only part in the assassination plot: delivering a rifle. Mr. Ray produced a letter from his attorney stating the promise that Mr. Ray would receive a trial. When Mr. Ray discovered that he was solely blamed for Dr. King’s assassination and would never receive a trial, Mr. Ray’s subsequent recants of his guilty plea and requests for trial were denied.

The US government also denied the King family’s requests for independent investigation of the assassination, despite the overwhelming evidence produced at the 1999 civil trial. Dr. King’s wife, Coretta, spent more than twice the number of years she was married to Martin working to get a criminal trial for her husband’s assassination.

Importantly, the US government has never presented any evidence subject to challenge that substantiates their claim that Mr. Ray assassinated Dr. King.

The King family believes the government’s motivation to murder Dr. King was to prevent his imminent camp-in/Occupy at Washington, D.C. until the Vietnam War was ended and those resources directed to end poverty and invest in US hard and soft infrastructure.

As a professional teacher of US history and government, the most accurate description I have is that the US devolved into a rogue state empire (link with abundant documented evidence).

US corporate media did not cover the civil trial, interview the King family, and textbooks omit this information. This is crucial evidence of a controlled corporate media rejecting coverage of a game-changing story. Journalist and author, James Douglass:

“I can hardly believe the fact that, apart from the courtroom participants, only Memphis TV reporter Wendell Stacy and I attended from beginning to end this historic three-and-one-half week trial. Because of journalistic neglect scarcely anyone else in this land of ours even knows what went on in it. After critical testimony was given in the trial’s second week before an almost empty gallery, Barbara Reis, U.S. correspondent for the Lisbon daily Publico who was there several days, turned to me and said, ‘Everything in the U.S. is the trial of the century. O.J. Simpson’s trial was the trial of the century. Clinton’s trial was the trial of the century. But this is the trial of the century, and who’s here?’ ”

For comparison, please consider the media coverage of O.J. Simpson’s trials:

“Media coverage of the Simpson trial, which began in January 1995, was unlike any other. Over two thousand reporters covered the trial, and 80 miles of cable was required to allow nineteen television stations to cover the trial live to 91 percent of the American viewing audience. When the verdict was finally read on October 3, 1995, some 142 million people listened or watched. It seemed the nation stood still, divided along racial lines as to the defendant’s guilt or innocence. During and after the trial, over eighty books were published about the event by most everyone involved in the Simpson case.”

Coretta Scott King was certain of the evidence after 30 years of consideration from the 1968 assassination to the 1999 trial:

“For a quarter of a century, Bill Pepper conducted an independent investigation of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. He opened his files to our family, encouraged us to speak with the witnesses, and represented our family in the civil trial against the conspirators. The jury affirmed his findings, providing our family with a long-sought sense of closure and peace, which had been denied by official disinformation and cover-ups. Now the findings of his exhaustive investigation and additional revelations from the trial are presented in the pages of this important book. We recommend it highly to everyone who seeks the truth about Dr. King’s assassination.” — Coretta Scott King.

The US Department of Justice issued a report in 2000 that explained their claimed investigation into their own possible guilt in the assassination. They concluded that they found no evidence to warrant further investigation. Dr. King’s son issued the following statement rebuking the “self-study” rather than independent investigation:

“We learned only hours before the Justice Department press conference that they were releasing the report of their results of their ‘limited investigation,’ which covered only two areas of new evidence concerning the assassination of Dr. King. We had requested that we be given a copy of the report a few days in advance so that we might have had the opportunity to review it in detail. Since that courtesy was not extended to us, we are only able at this time to state the following:

1. We initially requested that a comprehensive investigation be conducted by a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, independent of the government, because we do not believe that, in such a politically-sensitive matter, the government is capable of investigating itself.

2. The type of independent investigation we sought was denied by the federal government. But in our view, it was carried out, in a Memphis courtroom, during a month-long trial by a jury of 12 American citizens who had no interest other than ascertaining the truth. (Kings v. Jowers)

3. After hearing and reviewing the extensive testimony and evidence, which had never before been tested under oath in a court of law, it took the Memphis jury only one (1) hour to find that a conspiracy to kill Dr. King did exist. Most significantly, this conspiracy involved agents of the governments of the City of Memphis, the state of Tennessee and the United States of America. The overwhelming weight of the evidence also indicated that James Earl Ray was not the triggerman and, in fact, was an unknowing patsy.

4. We stand by that verdict and have no doubt that the truth about this terrible event has finally been revealed.

5. We urge all interested Americans to read the transcript of the trial on the King Center website and consider the evidence, so they can form their own unbiased conclusions.

Although we cooperated fully with this limited investigation, we never really expected that the government report would be any more objective than that which has resulted from any previous official investigation.”

Let’s summarize: Under US Civil Law, covert US government agencies were found guilty of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King. Dr. King was the leading figure of the Civil Rights Movement, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, and widely recognized as one of the world’s greatest speakers for what it means to be human. The family’s conclusion as to motive was to prevent Dr. King from ending the Vietnam War because the government wanted to continue its ongoing illegal covert and overt military operations to control foreign governments and their resources.

It is therefore a factual statement that under US Civil Law, the US government assassinated Dr. King.

People of sufficient intellectual integrity and moral courage to apply critical thinking skills will embrace the trial evidence and testimony, jury conclusion, and King family analysis as appropriate and helpful information in seeking the facts.

People who at least temporarily reject challenging information out of fear might say something like, “The government killed Dr. King? That’s a crazy conspiracy theory!”

Let’s consider that statement.

When someone says that a body of evidence is “crazy,” or a “conspiracy theory” (meaning an irrational claim easily refuted by the evidence) that’s a claim. With a claim comes a burden of proof. In this case, the person would have to demonstrate command of the facts to explain and prove why the evidence from the civil trial is somehow “crazy” and refute the evidence.

If the person can do this, it would be tremendously helpful in understanding the facts. However, we know from our experience that such statements almost always have zero factual support, and that the person making such a claim literally doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

We also know from our experience, a person making such a statement is really voicing an emotional reaction something closer to, “The government killed Dr. King? Ok, I read and understood the paragraphs about the trial and evidence. I read Mrs. King’s and her son’s statement. I haven’t invested the time to verify how valid that information is. I’m not stupid, but because the implications of what that means is so disturbing, I’m going to deny anything about it could possibly be true as my first response. If I’m going to continue being in denial and refuse to discuss the evidence, I’ll attack the messenger.”

We also need to consider the lack of coverage by US corporate media of this compelling evidence, trial verdict, and King family testimony from over 30 years’ analysis of the facts. Recall the evidence of US corporate media reporting being infiltrated by CIA agents to propagandize Americans’ access to information. This included the Director of the CIA’s admission to Congress that they have over 400 agents working in corporate media to make the US public believe what the CIA wants them to believe.

In 2006, George Washington University used a Freedom of Information Act request to obtain the US military’s “Information Operations Roadmap.” This formerly secret and approved document details present US government strategies to generate propaganda, and then attack Internet alternative media that provides dangerous facts and discussion. The military promoted the term, “Fight the net.”

Although I won’t enter the burden of proof here, you may know that there are similar and related bodies of evidence that the US government assassinated other American leaders, such as President Kennedy. The 1975 Senate Church Committee disclosed that the US government initiated and helped assassination attempts on multiple foreign heads of state.

If we were discussing how the population of some other nation could employ critical thinking skills to understand current events from anytime in history, we would certainly understand the importance to anticipate disinformation from government, danger of controlled media, and assassination as a political weapon.

Failure to do so would appropriately elicit the label attributed to the first dictator of the Soviet Union, Vladimir Lenin. Such people who believe what their government tells them when the history and present have overwhelming objective evidence to explain, document, and prove that the government is typical of so many other historical self-serving oligarchies are:

The admonition for Truth is explicit for all social science teachers of the present:

“As educators in the field of history–social science, we want our students to… understand the value, the importance, and the fragility of democratic institutions. We want them to realize that only a small fraction of the world’s population (now or in the past) has been fortunate enough to live under a democratic form of government.” – History-Social Science Framework for California Public Schools, pgs. 2, 7-8

Please consider the wisdom of a “Scrooge conversion” for current “minions for evil” to act for the benefit of all humanity rather than your self-proclaimed loveless “masters.” From Dickens’ 1843 text:

Public attraction to the stories of Star Wars and the Harry Potter books/movies recognize that our society’s jump to civilized relations for all of us might require support from people within the “dark side” acting as covert agents for building a brighter future.

Both Darth Vader (see video) and Professor Snape realized they were only tools of powers above them, things to be manipulated rather than sentient beings of free will. The severest irony is they both recognized their service to the “dark side” included deaths of their loved-ones and even themselves whenever convenient to their “masters.” That was Snape’s ending, although his path was taken with honor to infiltrate the darkness (4-minute video):

But that should be an obvious conclusion to those working in the real-world version of these analogies. We see it in the macro picture of millions killed every year through war and poverty, and in micro with individuals who we know.

For years, I have recommended Truth and Reconciliation to exchange full truth and return of public assets for no prosecution and a guaranteed provided comfortable retirement. Indeed, I am prepared to speak on the .01%’s corporate media to present this option with full confidence it is the most efficient in ending the crimes and avoiding a violent end-game as the .01% are recognized for who they really are by the 99.99%.

Minions to the evil .01%: does this 1-minute video artistically represent your memories, too?

How can people of color connect to public education when it ongoingly lies to cover .01% killers of America’s greatest person of color? How can ethical educators ask and work for this connection?

Despite the above overwhelming facts and civil trial legal verdict, public high school texts claim another “lone nut” assassinated Dr. King.

This is a lie of omission to exclude the evidence, and lie of commission of the evidence that refutes this conclusion, including the alleged weapon did not match the bullet and no criminal trial was ever held. All people with intellectual integrity and moral courage reject connection to such outrageous lies. How can educators who stand for truth in our most important areas of study ethically ask this of our children?

Harry Frankfurt is a Professor Emeritus from Princeton and Yale, and considered the US’ most prominent living philosopher. He wrote a 2005 bestseller to directly address the condition all Americans face from such lies of omission and commission by declaring it bullshit, and a central aspect of being human most important to recognize and respond to.

The purpose of bullshit is to use the best combination of truth and lies to sell a story that manipulates a targeted audience to embrace desired beliefs of the bullshitter.

Another term for bullshit is propaganda.

And the bullshit/propaganda is not just in this area, but throughout public education, as this 11-part article series thoroughly documents from typical textbooks our children should never connect with other than to recognize they’re being lied to.

When the facts of Martin’s assassination are understood and embraced, the goal of connecting communities of color with public education becomes a paradox:

Children of color should “play the game” of graduating from public education then trade school or college for the benefits of decent work and income. Children of color should “reject the game” their education is the truth about what’s important, because clearly it is full of lies.

But why the lies of omission and commission in public education???

The only way to ethically claim “official” stories in public education are true requires you to review the strongest arguments that they are lies. So before you argue, have you looked at the factual claims in just this one example of Martin King’s assassination?

Assuming you have, let’s address why Martin had to be killed by the .01% US illegal rogue state empire, and why public education texts must continue lying to cover the crime: We the People are on the edge of dispelling Emperor’s New Clothes delusion to recognize US .01% naked empire. The .01% are scrambling for ongoing control of propaganda to hide rogue state empire, and proactively working to seize guns for their own protection.

May I remind you of fundamental US history: the American Revolution started when our own government enacted involuntary gun control. Our .01% wanna-be masters would certainly prefer our voluntary gun control, and would engage in ongoing deception to achieve that policy objective.

Every rogue state empire in history has three central components:

  1. Political control for policy focused on global domination. This is familiar to you through colonialism, world wars, and current neocolonial wars.
  2. Financial and banking control to maximize .01% profits and pay minions to protect the .01%. This is likely unfamiliar to you, yet taught in every macroeconomics course as the mechanics that what we use for money is its Orwellian opposite: debt.   3. Propaganda of corporate media and public education to “cover” these crimes as being “legal” and “good” for everyone.

Of course, asking anyone to connect with public education that pretends the US is the “land of the free,” “home of the brave,” and “the greatest economy of the world” is an Orwellian lie and evil.

The obvious solutions to a bullshit public education include:

  1. Truth: comprehensive facts that are objective and independently verifiable so our children have the most important information for empowered lives.
  2. Technology: to optimize learning and a thriving future that makes .01% empire history.
  3. Love: Human freedom with truth and optimized technology opens unprecedented opportunity to explore our connectedness with all Life and each other. Living as loving beings also relegates dominating empire to history.

Some questions to consider:

  • What would Life look like if all the lies of omission and commission were corrected to truth? Where would we go and how would we live with truth?
  • If technology fulfills its promise to free humans with unprecedented time for creativity, how would Life be?
  • If love were unleashed along with human creativity, how would we express it?

Solution 1: Truth

The obvious response to bullshit is truth. If what one receives are lies of omission and commission to intentionally present a false image, then truth has to take three obvious moves:

  1. Expose the lies of omission and commission.
  2. Reveal that anyone educated in this field would or could never make those lies other than intentionally because the truth is so far from the bullshit. This is to expose and end the bullshit.
  3. Have comprehensive and objectively verifiable truth.

An adult perspective, given our topics in US History, Government, and Economics reveal obvious crimes that annually kill millions, harm billions, and loot trillions, also requires demand for arrests of .01% “leaders” responsible for those crimes. An arrest is the lawful and rational response when faced with an obvious crime in action, with the more harm in the crime requiring stronger action to achieve arrests.

To explain and document that public education will never be anything other than bullshit without arrests to end the forces creating bullshit to hide the US rogue state empire, I’ll use text from another essay attempting to reveal the bullshit within the 2016 US presidential contest:

“… Americans who vote for Hillary or Trump are voting to continue the following policies, with 95%+ who would never agree if honestly briefed on the facts:

  • The wars are Orwellian unlawful; not even close to legal. If there’s one law responsible citizens must know, and to honor the awful sacrifices of all our families through not one but two world wars, it’s war law. Did you know?
  • The real solutions to correct the Robber Baron-era system are monetary reform (direct creation of debt-free money for productive infrastructure) and public banks (at-cost and in-house credit to reduce government borrowing costs by 50%). Of course, almost all Americans don’t know.

I use rogue state in its academic meaning: a nation constantly breaking international law with both threat and harm to others, ruled by authoritarians who restrict rights and proliferate weapons of mass destruction. Since WW2, Earth has had 248 armed conflicts. The US started 201 of them (81%). These ongoing illegal Wars of Aggression have killed ~30 million and counting; 90% of these deaths are innocent children, the elderly and ordinary working civilian women and men. The sum of 30 million means the US has war-murdered more than Hitler’s NazisDid you know?

There is an alternative to voting for bullshit democracy: Demand .01% arrests

The responsible citizen response to these Emperor’s New Clothes obvious crimes centered in war, money, and lies is to demand arrests of US Left and Right .01% leaders.

Please read that sentence again to appreciate its elegant power and truth.

The alternative is to lie to one’s self, nation, and global community to allow ongoing crimes that annually kill millions, harm billions, and loot trillions. This is not a responsible alternative, let alone to take the criminal fraud further to vote the Left or Right’s chosen puppet to bullshit for further crimes.

In fact, unless one wishes to condone, bond, and join such evil and bullshit, one cannot vote for it. If one wishes to stand as an American under our ideals and Constitution, one must demand arrests for such outrageous crimes.

The categories of crime include:

  1. Wars of Aggression (the worst crime a nation can commit).
  2. Likely treason for lying to US military, ordering unlawful attack and invasions of foreign lands, and causing thousands of US military deaths.
  3. Crimes Against Humanity for ongoing intentional policy of poverty that’s killed over 400 million human beings just since 1995 (~75% children; more deaths than from all wars in Earth’s recorded history).

US military, law enforcement, and all with Oaths to support and defend the US Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, face an endgame choice:

Solution 2: Technology

From my friendship with Bucky Fuller (archive at Stanford) over the last two years of his life, I confirmed Bucky’s factual assertions that science has already solved all our real-world problems for human economic needs. A near-contemporary of Bucky, Jacques Fresco, initiated The Venus Project to continue factual demonstration that our only limitations are resources and labor. Consider this 4-minute trailer to their documentary, The Choice is Ours:

Freedom from our economic slavery to a debt system in criminal fraudulent lies of a “monetary system” will unleash human creativity to experiment with our very best ideas. The economic benefits of ending our bullshit system of forever, accelerating, and unpayable aggregate debt are easily and conservatively calculated at ~$1,000,000 per US household.

That, of course, is a game-changer.

Suppressions in technological and health breakthroughs end. This freedom goes beyond what we could imagine or predict. Importantly, this area of education unleashes human understanding of reality with competence of what we do with our human lives.

Solution 3: Love

The provable physics that all is connected in a holographic fractal reality seems likely in my review of data admittedly outside my professional expertise. If true, the physical reality of interconnectedness, that all is one, changes our relationships to explore the paradox that nothing is outside ourselves. In addition, human freedom to fully express and experience our ideals of love founded in religions and philosophies creates a wholly new context for lifelong education. We the People already feel the literal connectiveness of love, and yearn to experience and express it more fully.

Release from bullshit in public education initiates this wonderful journey fully in the light of conscious creativity in a professional academic commitment for full factual discovery.

We already feel/experience that love is the proper domain of learning/practicing how to be with ourselves, each other, and Life.

I believe I was “gate-kept” out of Ph.D. programs in education for my proposal to incorporate an expression of love into public education. My losing proposal for two years at all leading US universities, despite my background of having been honored by two Los Angeles mayors as one of the best teachers within the inner-city:

  1. Public education is de facto contained for individual success; personal education almost exclusively for the domain of work.
  2. Individual education with competent work should be a primary level for public education, and recognized as obviously incomplete because Life is lived only and always in relationships, teams, and communities.
  3. Therefore, research should explore how public education can empower children’s success in their relationships, teams for group work, and communities for ongoingly building brighter futures of virtue. This context will accelerate individual education beyond what we can imagine for success and happiness.

My friend and colleague, Fred Burks, sent me an article from U.C. Berkeley reporting on research that concludes that children who learn and live with better empathy/connection to others are the most likely to have all the successes public education intends to deliver.

Let’s consider our questions:

  • What would Life look like if all the lies of omission and commission were corrected to truth? Where would we go and how would we live with truth?
  • If technology fulfills its promise to free humans with unprecedented time for creativity, how would Life be?
  • If love were unleashed along with human creativity, how would we express it?

I can’t make you ponder, and have no interest to do nothing but allow your free consideration. That said, with respect to these questions:

Wouldn’t you like to experience Life in those conditions?
